Writing 4 Health
Kids & Parents Workshops

Since the pandemic it is estimated a staggering 1 in 10 children are suffering from anxiety. Parents are often at their wits end trying to find ways to help their child without having to resort to medication. These Writing 4 Health workshops have been developed by complementary therapists are designed to empower both parent and child to develop a toolbox of coping mechanisms for every day life.

Each workshop is fun, interactive and includes mindfulness and meditation exercises; they last anything from one hour to half a day depending upon the child's age. Classes are a mixture of online and one to one and are designed for parents to help their children at home, they include essential guides, workbooks and homework. The aim is to create a toolbox of coping mechanisms that any child from 2 years to 18 years can build and use whenever life gets too difficult.

Teenager

One to One Parent or Teen

If you are the parent of a teen suffering from anxiety, stress or depression a one to one session might be more suitable for either yourself or your teen.

Teens have to cope with a lot and the past few years have been especially hard for them with school grades affected, loss of friends and lack of confidence due to multiple lockdowns and the onset of puberty.

A one to one session will enable a parent or child to talk to someone in a confidential, and if they wish, anonymous environment about how they feel and how they think they're coping.

Each session is tailored to the individual but may include understanding emotions, essential coping mechanisms, mindfulness, small changes and reflective writing. Feedback on the writing process is included but optional, this process needs to be private unless the writer wants to share.

Prior to a first session the parent, whether as an attendee themselves, or on behalf of their child will be asked to complete a questionnaire, being as honest as possible is essential to ensure the best can be gained from each session.

The cost of each One to One session is:

£85.00 per hour - single session

£65.00 per hour - block of 3 sessions

£45.00 per hour - block of 6 sessions

Each session includes handouts and workbooks to take home for reference.
