Combat The Winter Blues
with these easy
Mood Enhancing Remedies.
There's something about autumn that makes me want to cozy up, light the log fire and burn my weight in aromatherapy candles; orange in the kitchen, pine in the dining room and green tea in the bedroom. However, I also get a terrible desire to hibernate and do nothing! And like any animal that hibernates I come out of it feeling grouchy, only instead of stones lighter, I'm usually packing more than the Christmas feast pounds. It's a feeling I have to fight and over the years have found a few ways to combat the winter blues, so here are a few of my tips to help you too avoid shutting yourself off from the world this winter with these natural mood enhancers that will have you skipping through even the most dismal and darkest days of the year.

Studies have shown that the third Monday of January is the most depressing day of the entire year. Researchers think this is due to regret buying those indulgences we convinced ourselves we deserved and, then have to face the truth of our extravagances when the bills come rolling in. But heck, chin up we enjoyed it at the time je n'ai pas de regrets.

However, there are some easy solutions that can stop your mood from plummeting and will have people looking suspiciously at you and wondering 'what’s your secret?' So snuggle up with your favourite hot water bottle and winter warming drink and get stuck into these fun activities.

Self-Care is not Self Centred
Are you someone who finds it difficult to say no? Do you tie yourself in knots to the detriment of yourself accommodating everyone else's wishes but your own?
If so, it could be that you've been taught to believe that looking after yourself and putting your needs first is selfish, however, self-care is not self-centred. In fact, taking care of yourself, is an essential part of maintaining your physical, emotional and mental well-being.

What do we mean by self-care? Self-care invites you to nurture and promote a healthy relationship with yourself. The objective is to recharge your batteries to make sure that you have the energy and vitality to meet the demands of daily life.
Self-care is especially important for anyone who suffers from stress, anxiety, depression and chronic illness.

Prioritizing your own health is not a selfish act, it is self-preservation. When we neglect ourselves, we put our well-being at risk, affecting not only ourselves but also those around us.
By prioritizing self-care, we ensure that we are emotionally stable, physically strong, and mentally resilient, making us better equipped to support others and contribute positively to our relationships.
So how can we do that?

Create a Cozy
Eco Home
No compromising on your ethics here, as nights draw in and temperatures drop outside, create a cozy eco home to curl up in and recharge without worry.

Avoid waste by using reusable shopping bags when you do your grocery shopping, just hang them by the door so you don't forget them when you leave the house.
01.
How Eco friendly is your laundry detergent?
For centuries, soaps made from natural substances were used to cleanse our skin and clothes. Synthetic detergents were developed in the early 20th century to create products that cleaned our laundry better and more conveniently. These days we may buy them based on a nice smell or how bright our clothes look, and take for granted that they are safe for us and for the environment.
02.
Apps that will help you save the planet
Most of us spend upwards of three hours on our smartphones every day. Much of our phone time is spent messaging friends and family, scrolling through social media feeds, watching video shorts and playing mindless games—but what if we could use it more productively to help save the planet? Not surprisingly, there are dozens of apps out there designed to solve environmental issues. Whether you want to cut your carbon footprint, reduce food waste, or save water, there’s an app (or two) out there for it.
